QR-code digital menus for restaurants, built for reopening after the 2020 lockdown. Free for restaurant owners.
May 2020: restaurants are reopening and paper menus have become a problem. A Tavola replaces them with a digital menu that guests open on their own phone, without touching anything.
How it works
For guests: a map shows the participating restaurants nearby, using GPS. At the table, scanning the QR code opens the restaurant's menu.
For restaurant owners: they sign up with their phone number, enter the menu themselves and update it whenever they like, with prices, photos, categories and allergens. Each dish can be flagged as vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or lactose-free.
The QR code is generated at sign-up: print it and put it on the tables or at the entrance.
Context
Built by a team of four in about a month, as a contribution to the post-lockdown restart: no subscription and no cost for restaurant owners. It was covered by AndriaViva and TraniViva.
