Imports supplier Connect SRL's dropshipping catalogue into WooCommerce, with per-category markups, exclusions and automatic cleanup of discontinued products.
Through dropshipping, Gica Elettronica also sells products it does not keep in stock: the supplier ships them directly. For that to work, the shop has to mirror the supplier's catalogue with the right prices and up-to-date stock.
How it works
Catalogue from the supplier: downloads codes, categories, brands, stock, prices, EANs and up to eight images per product from Connect SRL's API.
Prices from a spreadsheet: the per-category markups for resellers and consumers, plus the shipping share, live in a Google Sheet, so whoever runs the shop can change margins without touching code.
Exclusions: a second sheet lists categories, brands and single SKUs not to sync.
Update, create, delete: changed products are updated, new ones are created when stock is high enough, and those dropped from the supplier's catalogue are removed from the shop.
How it evolved
It started as a Python script and is now a WordPress plugin (Connect SRLS WC Sync): category mapping, markups and exclusions are managed from the WordPress dashboard.
