Process automation

The problem

Many tasks repeat the same way every day: calling each patient to confirm an appointment, searching by hand for photos of thousands of products, checking flight and train prices and times. A program does this work without forgetting anything, while people keep the tools they already use.

How I work

1. 01Understanding the processWho does what, with which tools, where time is lost and what happens when something goes wrong.
2. 02Connecting what is already thereThe APIs of the services in use, such as Google Calendar, WhatsApp, Telegram or eBay, so nobody has to change their habits.
3. 03DevelopmentThe script or bot, with checks for edge cases: sources tried in order from cheapest to most expensive, data quality checks.
4. 04Going liveIn Docker containers, with configuration kept apart from the code so it adapts to each client.
5. 05Alerts and maintenanceNotifications when something goes wrong and updates when external services change.

Time and cost

Every project gets its own estimate. Time and cost depend mainly on:

• how many systems to connect and whether they offer an API;
• the volume: messages, products or events to handle;
• any paid external services, such as search APIs;
• where the automation has to run;
• maintenance when external services change.
